The 1985-1989 Original Red Sox claimed the title with 6.5 points. The Mets finished second with 3 points and the Athletics notched a half-point to secure third place in the overall standings. As mentioned in the Methodology section, the team with the highest victory total during a given season receives one point. If two or more teams tie for the lead, each receives 0.5 points.
